Dow Europe and Targray Technology International have announced the signing of an agreement appointing Targray as an exclusive distributor for polycarbonate. This agreement, effective as of the beginning of this year, includes Europe, India, the Middle East and Africa, where Targray will sell Dow's CALIBRETM 1060 DVD and CALIBRETM 1080 DVD optical grade polycarbonate.

Dan Murray (pictured), global vice president for Targray, told One to One: "We are delighted that Dow has selected us as its distributor for polycarbonate optical media products in the European, Indian, Middle Eastern and African region. From our point of view, Dow is one of the world's top three producers of polycarbonate for optical media, and they have a great product. We believe in being able to offer one good product, and to have a partnership with the producer.

"This agreement will enable Targray to further grow and expand its optical media offering by adding Dow's polycarbonate brand and technology to our broad range of mastering, replication, printing and packaging products."

Through this distribution alliance with Targray, Dow has stated that it aims to strengthen its channel to market and grow its optical media business in Europe, India, the Middle East and Africa. According to Martin Whelan, European product director for Dow's styrenics, polycarbonate, and compounds & blends business: "We believe customers will appreciate the know-how and service capability that Targray offers, based on its broad range of products and expertise in the optical media market.

"In addition to its established global position and relationship with Dow in North and Latin America, Targray already has a strong presence in Europe and we are very pleased to continue our relationship with them in this region."
