Polyethylene & Polypropylene Separators for Cell Manufacturing
Targray supplies a line of PE & PP separators for lithium-ion battery manufacturers and researchers. The materials consist of Polyolefin Separators that are either Polypropylene (PP) or Polyethylene (PE) based. Our battery separator materials contain micro and nano pores to provide excellent ion transportation capabilities within the li-ion battery. They are also offered in a ceramic-coated variety for enhanced thermal deformation resistance and mechanical strength.
To review the characteristics of our industry-leading PE & PP separators, consult the section that follows.
Targray Polypropylene Separators
The evolution of Li-ion batteries from consumer electronic devices to large batteries for use in electric vehicles requires a superior battery Separator technology. Our advanced PP separator has a high shut down temperature and excellent mechanical strength suitable for use in EV batteries and other power cell applications.
Polypropylene Separators provide the following key features & benefits:
- Higher shut down temperature and melting point for improved safety
- Homogeneous pore size and distribution
- High puncture resistance
- Low shrinkage (<4% @ 105º)
- Excellent air permeability of 20-40 Gurley sec, Porosity >40
Targray Polyethylene Separators
Our line of Polyethylene separators are widely used in the manufacturing of batteries for consumer electronics, and can also be found in high power and high energy batteries. Our wet stretch process employs ultra-high density polyethylene to deliver excellent porosity, homogeneous nano-pore structure and excellent strength characteristics.
Targray wet-stretch polyethylene separators of the following key features & benefits:
- Uniform thickness
- Good ion penetration
- Excellent puncture resistance rate
- Good performance in high-capacity batteries
