Electrode Sheets for Lithium-ion Battery Manufacturing

Electrode sheets contribute significantly to determining the overall performance of cells in lithium-ion battery manufacturing. Optimized for use in the latest EV and energy storage applications, our battery electrode sheet solutions can help reduce equipment costs and manufacturing time while consistently delivering exceptional battery performance.

About Our Anode and Cathode Sheets

Our anode and cathode electrode sheets are manufactured through a cost-efficient solid state synthesis approach. Offered in a standard 5″ x 10″ format and coated on one side, our copper & aluminum-foil based electrodes can be adapted to different materials compositions and particle morphologies. Our custom electrode sheet solutions are optimized according to the active material loading, coating thickness, binder solution, and current collector materials used in your battery project.

Cathode Electrode Sheet Solutions

Cell voltage, capacity, energy and power capabilities, cycle life, and temperature of operation are primary considerations when determining the best cathode option for a specific battery chemistry. Targray’s portfolio of cathode electrode sheets includes options for a wide range of applications:

LFP Sheets

LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) sheets are known for their exceptional safety and stability, making them ideal for high-power applications. These sheets offer a long cycle life and are widely used in electric vehicles and energy storage systems. LFP technology provides a sustainable and reliable energy solution with low thermal runaway risks.

NMC Sheets

NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) sheets are popular in the battery industry for their high energy density and balanced performance. They are commonly used in electric vehicles and portable electronics due to their superior charge capacity. NMC sheets provide an excellent balance of power, lifespan, and safety, making them a preferred choice for modern battery applications.

LMO Sheets

Lithium manganese oxide (LiMn2O4) is a cathode with a structure that allows the material to be discharged at high rates. LMO electrode sheet materials are a good fit for high rate applications.

NCA Sheets

Lithium nickel cobalt aluminum oxide (LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2) is a cathode that provides exceptional capacity. NCA electrode sheet materials are an excellent option for moderate rate applications that call for higher energy density.

LMNO Sheets

Lithium manganese nickel oxide / spinel (LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4) is a cathode that can be charged at a higher voltage than comparable materials – up to 5V. The high energy density that LMNO electrode sheets provide makes them ideally suited for batteries used in high rate applications.

Graphite

Graphite sheets are widely used in batteries due to their excellent conductivity and high thermal stability. They play a crucial role as an anode material in lithium-ion batteries, enhancing performance and efficiency. Graphite’s robust structure ensures long-lasting energy storage and reliable operation in various applications.

Si-Graphite

Li-Graphite sheets combine the properties of lithium and graphite, offering superior energy density and fast charging capabilities. These sheets are ideal for advanced battery technologies, providing enhanced performance for electric vehicles and portable electronics. Li-Graphite technology ensures a high-capacity, durable, and efficient energy solution.

Lithium Titanate (LTO) Anode Electrode Sheets

LTO, or Lithium titanate (Li4Ti5O12) is a highly stable anode material that is ideally suited for electrode sheets in batteries requiring high c-rates and long life cycles. Lithium Titanate-based batteries are typically safer than their counterparts, with a broader operating temperature range.

Working with supply partners and organizations including the Electrochemical Society and NAATBatt International, we help lithium-ion battery manufacturers and researchers worldwide commercialize ambitious new energy storage technologies.
